Our Campaign for Renovation & Recovery
Beginning in 2022, the Board of Directors of the non-profit Meeting Place, Inc., worked with architects Sinclair-Hille to assess the maintenance condition of our building, identify our current strengths and challenges, and design changes that could make the building even better. Our goal is to extend our mission – to support and sponsor 12-Step Recovery, to be an asset to the community, and ensure the long-term viability of the facility.
Recovery by the numbers –
Every day, every month, the Meeting Place makes a significant impact on the lives of families and workplaces in Lincoln and Lancaster County. The impact can be revealed in the numbers.
Over 65 Twelve-Step meetings gather at the Meeting Place every week.
Over 35% of all AA meetings in Lincoln are hosted by the Meeting Place.
Over 4,800 hours of recovery are logged each month by members of various meetings here.
When the planned addition is completed, we will go from six meeting rooms now to 10. We will be able to host over 100 meetings a week.
We can expect another 25 years of useful life when the new heating/air conditioning system and roof are installed. Our current systems are nearing the end of their rated lives.
We will be able to increase our parking from 10 or so stalls to up to 120 stalls, decreasing the impact of our meetings on the surrounding Hartley Neighborhood.
